Description
The proposed project involves the construction of a Centralized Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) and an associated sewerage
collection system to serve the urban barangays of Coron. The STP will be located in Barangay Poblacion 5 on a 2,000-square-meter
lot classified as Unclassified Public Forest per Certification of Land Status issued by DENR-CENRO Coron (Annex A). In line with
this, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Coron is applying for a Gratuitous Special Use Permit (GSUP) as the tenurial instrument for
project implementation for all the developments that falls under the UPF area, while for the developments under the reclamation area,
the LGU coordinated with the PRA for the clearance while for A&D area, the LGU acquired Certificate of No Objection for the project.
The sewerage network will cover Barangays Poblacion 1, 2, and 3, the town proper, where wastewater will be collected through a
gravity-fed and pumped pipeline system and conveyed to the centralized treatment plant.
ECAN Zoning
Based on the submitted documents, the project falls under Category A, which requires the proponent to secure the Corresponding
SEP Clearance. The project falls within the 0.2272672hectares Terrestrial Multiple Use Zone (allowable) of the approved ECAN Map
for the Municipality of Coron, Palawan. The development must be confined within the allowable zone (0.2272672ha) project area. Any
expansion is subject to a separate ECAN Zoning Certification and/or SEP Clearance.

As proof of social acceptability, the following were presented:
