This report calculates that the net present value of increasing investment in education in the United Kingdom by 10% over 2024-2080 is 1100 billion pounds. The average yearly benefit is £95 bn and the average yearly cost £17 bn. This result is consistent with previous evidence from the academic literature, which we review.
